Ladies OPEN Day…
a successful day because everyone contributed!
What sets St Francis Links apart from the rest when staging an event (on or off the course)… we have the desire and ability to stage an event that always offers more “punch than the price” – we will always endeavor to exceed expectations at every turn.
This past Saturday, lady golfers from the surrounding clubs joined our members for “more than” a day of golf. It’s not about the welcome muffins, smoothies, coffee and tea on arrival; it’s not about the welcome gift or the prizes (great prizes, thanks Leely); it could be the special care from arrival to departure; it might be the great course and special ‘set-up’ for the day; it might have something to do with the ‘unexpected’ Jackpot prizes donated by our friends from Simola, Pezula, Oubaai and Fancourt Links; it certainly had something to do with the special lunch presented by our team in the kitchen; I know that Brad’s cooking demonstration has become a ‘standard operating procedure’ – this year, he shared some secrets in making cheese and choosing the ‘right’ ingredients when cooking – the healthy kind; in the end, it must be the combination of the above. I love doing the Prizegivings when I know we have succeeded in providing a great day of “more than” golf!

Aaaah…Home, Sweet, Home!
Thanks TEAM, for allowing Santa and Mrs. Clause a break! We normally travel to America to see family and friends; this year, with my kids coming here in July, we decided to visit the fantastic Kruger Park and then, thanks to kindness of Steven Shearer and the management from Heritage Le Telfair (giving me a complimentary stay in honour of my 20 years in SA), we spent time “doing absolutely nothing” at their resort in Mauritius. So many holidays are about running from one family member to another, driving endless kilometers to see one thing or another – we made the decision to do as little as possible, to get to know each other better (even though we ‘WORK’ 10 feet apart). Our biggest decision was where to sit and what to eat…the perfect BREAK!

We are back, rested, full of new ideas and ready to take this fantastic estate to another level!

Ps. Liezl even managed to find a couple from Manchester getting married on the beach – she just couldn’t stay away from the action!

In recent weeks, 7 more re-sales have taken place on the estate – unfortunately, selling at ‘buyer’s’ prices. However, the good news is the fact that sellers needing to get out of the market are being replaced with “Members” wanting to build soon. Much has been accomplished through Ryan’s personal involvement with members and his communication with supporting agents in town. Richard Arderne from Pam Golding has put together another promotional piece (with our input) that is being sent to his and our data bases. You will have received this piece by now. Your support and comments are appreciated. …just try to keep it all positive!

…in other words, surround yourself with positive people. A positive attitude will lead to positive results. Ryan’s acquired knowledge of our product and members needs combined with the expertise and support from our supporting agents are producing the positive results and helping to turn this slow market around. It is having a positive effect on the development and the community.
All of Ernie’s talent was needed here…
Ernie Muller found his ball in a precarious place – this picture taken by playing partner Craig Haverly did not come with a comment about the result!

…from Renee
I went to Jbay on Monday with 8 girls, the help of Chemel from Thalado.
The Winners of the 4 holes (beginners) were Palisa and Danielle, both from our (St Francis Bay) group! The bigger girls played 16 holes and all off forward tees but Tanya (Siposethu) Anothando had amazing scores!
They were the winners on Monday and also the winners over 9 holes at the Links on Thursday so overall winners for the week!
On Saturday they played @ Zwartenbosch (never been there before) in a junior comp, they played off the Ladies red tees off 36 handicap, did 9 holes and Siposethu won with 16 points with a birdie on the 3rd hole, chipping in from off the green!
I am so proud, Ryan has done a great job!

Men from The Links, Mncedisi Matshoba & Petros Tito, leant a helping hand to the Kromme Trust and removed alien Rooikrans and Port Jackson Willow from erf 554 behind the Bowling Green. The Municipality will also help by removing the pile of cut aliens. The Kromme Trust has various projects and one of them is to keep erf 554 in its pristine state. The spring bulbs are popping up so walk that way and enjoy them.
Cheers for now!
Jeff
