World Cup…Boks Win! PHEEEEWWWW!
Well, I guess I really do qualify as a South African after that (under) performance on Sunday… I felt all of the emotions that go along with being a true FAN – good and bad and then, good! Take the win, learn from it and get better…you know that I am the most positive person you’ll meet!
But the Bokke provided only some of the glory this past weekend. Our first “major” of the wedding schedule took place on Saturday night – 120 wedding guest making sure that they partied hard enough to remember it all for a couple of days to follow. When I arrived early Sunday morning to check on the set-up in the bar and conference room for the expected 100+ Bok Supporters, Quintin, Oscar and Hendricka were still here from the wedding. They, with the help of a couple of casuals pulled the “usual” all-nighter to make sure the wedding furniture and all that went with it, was put away, the entire seating arrangement for the rugby was in place and somehow, they were all still smiling! Then, the same staff that left the wedding at midnight returned to serve breakfast for the early arriving supporters followed by a Potjie and Bobotie lunch for the rest! Another Pheeewww!
The “Prawns” golf group have been gathering for 19 years and the Robinson Tour for 8… we “smoked ‘em” right down to the evening steak braai for the Robinson’s and the Shoot-out on 17 for the Prawns!
To finish the weekend off properly, we entertained Wayne Davis-Hannibal, wife Sue and friends for dinner on Monday Night… Aaaah, I love it when we are “Cookin’”!
