Welcome Nico Young
| Let me start my newsletter by finally welcoming Nico Young that took over the position as workshop manager from Thinus Le Roux. Nico came from Oubaai and had a workshop to be proud of. We wish Nico the best of luck with his new position and we know that you are going to be a huge asset to St Francis Links. News from the course is that we have had a very dry January where we only recorded 4,5mm of rain for the whole month. We have however been able to irrigate the course sufficiently and got the course through the month still looking good. The greens are slowly getting some speed back after some frequent double cutting and also with us doing some rolling of the greens. We are due to fertilise the course soon and then you can all look forward to a very green and lush course that will be even more pleasing on the eyes while playing a round with good friends. |

There will be some experts arriving this week to help sort out the bubbles in the 13th dam that seems to have been caused by groundwater that pushed up under the dam lining.
There are plenty of work happening on the course, drainage, sodding and many more, but we will try and keep it to a minimum on big competition days to make your round as enjoyable as possible.
Enjoy and happy golfing!
